The deadline for February ELANews submissions is January 30. Your submission will be promoted via our website and likely on our Twitter feed and Facebook page as well! More info here.
Other upcoming deadlines:
-
In March 2013, ELAN will launch Made au Québec, a bilingual website dedicated to promoting all that is new and relevant in the world of Quebec’s English-speaking artists. We are looking for a lively, attractive graphic design for the site name. Along with being featured on the website, the design winner will receive a $150 prize of books, CDs and performance tickets from ELAN members.
-
Our Minute Market is a great opportunity to promote your current projects. The first ten members to contact us will be given a one-minute spot to market your latest work at our Schmoozer. (You will also be asked to provide a book, CD, art object, or pair of tickets to be offered as a door prize.)
-
ELAN's Schmoozers are bi-monthly get-togethers that offer a great chance to make new connections and catch up with old friends. The environment is relaxed, and we shuffle tables every so often so you get a chance to meet everyone without the pressure of thinking up a bunch of suave conversation-starters.
-
Are you looking for fresh ways to promote your work and tell your story? Would you like to be able to create images that add a personal touch to your communications, and even create short animated videos? The Art of Visual Storytelling workshop is aimed at non-artists who want to develop visual thinking skills to marry words and images creatively. The workshop is also aimed at visual artists who want to explore new tools and software to create digital art.

- Director's Message

It was good to see so many of you at the December schmoozer at McKibbens Irish pub. ELAN was created primarily as a place where artists and cultural workers could get together with others who share the joys and challenges of working in the arts. It is always stimulating to encounter people from different disciplines and different neighborhoods, long-time ELAN members, emerging artists, and newcomers to Quebec. We also had the best Minute Market ever, with dynamic creators sharing their current projects - and door prizes. It was a splendid way to say goodbye to 2012.
