General/Multidisciplinary

  • Sign up for CALQ’s webinar to find out all the details on the new programs for organizations before DECEMBER 5. The webinar takes place on DECEMBER 6. 
  • Eastern Bloc is looking for interactive installation/performance, Net art, bio art, audio/video installation, A/V performance, and sound performance submissions for its winter residency. Submit by DECEMBER 16. 
  • The Banff Centre for the Arts is seeking applicants from leaders of arts and culture organizations for it’s Social Innovation Residency. Apply by DECEMBER 16.
  • Studio XX call for proposals for the 2017-2018 artist in residency program in research & creation for interdisciplinary works. Apply by JANUARY 15.
  • Spark Box is seeking Canadian visual artists, printmakers, photographers, performance artists, and filmmakers of all levels for a national residency. Apply by FEBRUARY 1.
  • Nuit Rose, Toronto’s annual festival of queer-focused performance and art is  accepting submissions from artists, performers, writers, curators, cultural organizations and community businesses. Submit by FEBRUARY 10.

Music

  • Instruments of Happiness is seeking professional and amateur guitarists to participate in a 100 guitar tribute to Jimi Hendrix. Audition on DECEMBER 3.
  • Call for Musicians: School of Music Montreal (SoMM) is looking for musicians of all genres for a fundraising concert on JANUARY 13. Apply by DECEMBER 30.

Theatre

  • ARTISTA, Imago Theatre’s FREE theatre mentorship program for women and women-identifying youth aged 16-21 is seeking submissions. Apply by JANUARY 11. Want to support the ARTISTA program? Donate to the Indiegogo campaign before DECEMBER 23.
  • Thanks to the support of the Evenko foundation, the Geordie Theatre School Bursary, for youth from families in lower economic backgrounds, is back for the Winter Session. Apply by JANUARY 13.
  • The Quebec Drama Federation is seeking designer submissions from past, current and upcoming productions for the upcoming winter calendar launch and designer vernissage! Apply by JANUARY 13 by e-mailing workshop@quebecdrama.org.

Writing

  • The Montreal Review of Books is looking for new publications for its next issue.  Fiction, non-fiction, poetry, graphic novels, criticism, children’s & YA are all welcome. Submit by DECEMBER 14. 
  • Disquiet is currently accepting contest submissions for The Disquiet Literary Prize for writing in any genre. The top winners in each genre will be published in Guernica (fiction), Ninthletter.com (nonfiction) and The Common (poetry). Apply by JANUARY 31, 2017.
  • The SLS 2017 fiction/poetry contest is now open to submissions! Winners will have the choice of attending a writing program in Georgia or Kenya, all expenses paid. Apply by FEBRUARY 28.
